- 1 kg Mutton, Cut into Bite-Sized
- 4 tbsp Mustard Oil
- 1 Cup Ghee or Vegetable Oil
- 3 Tomatoes, Chopped
- 2 Large Onions, Finely Chopped
- 2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 2 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Clove Powder
- 1 Cup Plain Yogurt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 2 tbsp of Garlic Paste
- 2 tbsp Ginger Paste
- 2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 2 tsp Soriander Seeds
- 1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 1 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 1 cup of water
- Salt of Taste
- Fresh Coriander Leaves, Chopped for Garnish
- 1 Lemon, Cut into Wedges for Garnish
- 2 Green Chillies, Sliced for Garnish
How to Make Rara Mutton
Step 1
Heat oil in a pressure cooker on medium flame. Add chopped onion and fry until golden brown.
Step 2
Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and saute for another minute.
Step 3
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
Step 4
Add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to the pressure cooker and stir well.
Step 5
Add the mutton pieces to the pressure cooker and mix well with the masala.

Add 1 cup of water to the pressure cooker and close the lid. Cook on high flame till the first whistle, then lower the flame and cook for another 15-20 minutes.
Step 7
Now turn off the heat and release the pressure naturally.
Step 8
Open the lid to see if the mutton is cooked properly. If it is not cooked, it should be cooked for some time.
Step 9
Garnished with fresh coriander leaves, you can eat it with hot rice or roti and you will get great taste.
